Representative Guinta (R-NH-01) introduced the Ax the Tax on Middle Class Americans’ Health Plans Act (H.R. 879). The bill repeals the 40% non-deductible excise tax on certain “luxury” health care plans, by striking section 480I from Chapter 43 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. House Democrats plan to introduce their own legislation in the coming weeks. IPMA-HR has endorsed Guinta’s bill and is working with other organizations to get the tax repealed.
