The City of Oakland is searching for a talented, energetic professional to serve as the Human Resources Manager (Talent Acquisition & Employee Benefits Manager). Reporting to the Director of Human Resources Management, the HR Manager is responsible for recruitment, classification, and benefit management for a workforce of approximately 5,000 employees. The ability to understand complex polices, rules, and labor agreements in a collective bargaining work environment is key to the success of the HR Manager. The ideal candidate will have outstanding leadership skills with a solid and broad background in human resources complemented by a thorough understanding of municipal operations.
The annual salary range for this at-will position is $136,518 to $167,603. Benefits, including CalPERS retirement, are also offered.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of progressively responsible experience in public personnel administration and management, including at least 4 years in a supervisory or management capacity. A Master’s degree is desirable.
