The Human Resources Department for the City of Santa Monica is seeking a Human Resources Fiscal Technician to join the employee benefits team. This position will be responsible for processing a variety of employee benefit billing and accounting activities including research of benefit account histories, account reconciliation, accrual of expenditures, and recording of receivables. This position will also reconcile monthly benefit plan invoices for all active employee and dependent plans, retiree plans and COBRA plan enrollments. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree in Public or Business Administration, Accounting or a closely related field. Four years of recent, paid relevant work experience performing bookkeeping and/or complex finance support duties, which included customer service in a human resources environment. Experience administering employee benefit programs for a large or unionized organization is desirable. Experience working with CalPERS or a related defined benefit retirement plan is desirable. Additional recent, paid relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of education on a year for year basis.
