​IPMA-HR has been offering human resource training and certification programs in China since 2004. It partners currently with the National Education Examinations Authority of the Ministry of Education (NEEA), China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), and the Training Center of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (TCSAFEA). All IPMA-HR training programs and exams are offered in Chinese.

IPMA-HR has certified over 11,000 people in China who have been awarded the following designations:

  • IPMA Certified Professional (IPMA-CP)
  • IPMA Certified Entry-Level Professional (IPMA-CE)
  • IPMA Certified Mid-Level Professional (IPMA-CM)
  • IPMA Certified Leader (IPMA-CL)

The IPMA Certified Professional (IPMA-CP) designation is awarded to people who complete the IPMA-HR Developing Competencies for HR Success training program plus HR technical modules on recruitment/selection, classification and compensation, employee and labor relations, performance management, and employee and organizational development and pass a 150 item multiple choice examination.

The IPMA-CE and IPMA-CM designations are awarded to those who complete the IPMA-HR certificate program and pass an exam. The designation awarded is based on the number of years of human resource management experience that individuals possess.

The IPMA-CL designation is given to those who complete the HR Executive Leadership training program, which is based on the IPMA-HR leadership model that consists of three domains – personal, organization, and human resources plus a project addressing a human resources challenge being faced by their organizations.
