HR 2020 Shifting Perspectives

A Vision for Public Sector HR

The International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) established an HR 2020 taskforce to determine trends that will impact the challenges and opportunities facing public sector human resources professionals.

The report and the resources included on this page are designed to provide a practical guide to assist public sector HR professionals as they make the transition from being transactional to transformational.

The taskforce identified five focus areas – Leadership, Culture, Talent, Communications, and Technology. These focus areas are viewed through three critical lenses – Business Acumen, Innovation, and Strategic Orientation. The taskforce also conducted a survey and the results can be accessed here.
